caragh:

It’s a fucking crime that Bear Grylls exists—

For about 5 minutes I’ve been trying to finish that sentence with tact and grace, but who am I kidding. Neither of those words apply to me and since I shouldn’t talk about what I want in my vagina on the internet, I will not end that sentence.

I second that…

fatmanatee:For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone...
Monday, 7 July 2008

fatmanatee:

For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone would want to visit that site without having to take a shower after they’re done reading.  The man has a knack for spotting new pop musicians, but the positives are drowned away by the ridiculous material he comes up with otherwise.

For whatever reason, it’s become acceptable to draw splooge all over girls’ faces, make fun of rehab stints, and generally be an awful human being.  Why is this okay with people?  It’s terrible behavior for someone who tries to put himself in a good light by promoting charities.  More than likely, the byproduct of donations is having his ego stroked, so he can go on about how he saved the kids.

If I could stand to go to his website again, I’d make a tumblr called musicthatawfulhumanbeingsrecommend.tumblr.com, so any people who claim to go to the site just for the music can be satisfied, and not give the guy any more press (like I am right now, incidentally).

Really people, what the hell?

There was a brief period of time a couple of years ago when what he wrote and blogged about was kinda funny in a “oh I shouldn’t laugh but really…” kind of way… but I was utterly disgusted by the way he reacted and reported the breakdown of Britney Spears… and then moved on to rip apart the next celebrity on his shitlist.  He’s started to believe his own hype and is just plain mean to… and about… people.  The vitriol that he spouts forth about “celebrities” is no longer funny (was it ever really?) and it is beyond my understanding how such an unsavoury person has become such a success.

lovepuppy:

I still feel jealous (even though I have everything anyone needs) and completely lonely (even in a room with my sleeping brother).

I think I am about to cry.

This is exactly what I had typed but just hadn’t gotten around to clicking “Post” because I was kinda distracted by ironing and other unsavoury sunday jobs but I’m going to post it now even though I’ve completely lost my train of thought after reading what Jess just posted….

I just got through looking at lovepuppy’s pics and she’s so incredibly…. ummmm… buoyant.  Yes buoyant is the word to use.  She seems so full of life… always smiley although I’m sure she has her fair share of troubles just like any other young person…. but she just has this whole marvellous sunny outlook.  I read her Tumblr and look at her pics on whatiwore and find myself hoping that my daughter manages to retain her sunshiney smile in the same way that Jessica does….

vinh:

I can’t imagine living anywhere else other than California. My favorite parts of the ride down the coast were all of the surfers in the water waiting for the perfect wave, and those who waved at the train.

This video is lovely… it makes me feel closer to people who live so far away.

I had a lovely train ride down to Cornwall a couple of weeks ago and it was so wonderful…. and I smiled so hard seeing alpacas (YES…ALPACAS!!!!) in someone’s garden and a load of guys on a golf course waving at the train… so silly I know.

Just home from seeing Hancock at the cinema.  Not sure about it….

Was it entertaining?  Yes…. was it fabulous and worth the £20 it cost (including coke and popcorn)… Nope.

But wow…. it worth going to the movies just to the trailer for The Dark Knight.

For those of you who haven’t had an opportunity to see WALL·E yet, here’s the opening movie for it, called Presto. It should definitely whet your appetite.

This looks fabulous and I can’t wait to see WALL·E.

I’ve never really been into animation… I loved Monsters Inc but thats about it.  Last year I went to see Ratatouille with my daughter and absolutely loved it.  The animation was simply outstanding and… although I can’t explain it… it was totally different from anything I had seen before.

The Dark Knight - Tumblr Rules
Thursday, 3 July 2008

katieschenk:

Okay let’s lay out some ground rules here.

Not all of us are going to be seeing this movie on Thursday night (the 17th), so can we please make a deal and those of you who are seeing it that night will agree to not post ANYTHING about the movie. No quotes, no “oh my god it was so amazing when…”, no “I can’t believe…”.

I’m not even talking about spoilers. It’s already getting to the point where I have to glance away from the movie posters and trailers that are on my dashboard.

Deal? Handshake?

Oh hell, forget it. This will never work. I’ll just stay away from Tumblr for 24 hours.

I’m a week behind…. I don’t stand a chance….

“Removing the mask has crushed my heart”

Noticed this poetic statement on the walk home last night.

how do you do that disappearing effect?

Soup I dont know if you got an answer but I’ll have a go… In the past I’ve got the same effect by choosing a longer exposure time and having the subject (or peripheral person) move in and out of the shot…

Annamarie Tendler took a few shots like this back along which were quite fabulous… you could check out the Exif data on her photo properties to get an idea what settings to put your camera on….

About Me

Being beautiful is no guarantee of happiness in this world...

Instead... strive for elegance... grace and style...

Name:Caz
Home:Plymouth UK

This blog is basically just my thoughts... often completely incoherent.. about the stuff I deal with in my life... and include the following...

  • my job in a Large Law Firm (rather taxing)
  • being a single mum (by choice)
  • coping with my almost 17 year old daughter as she grows into a woman (rather scary)
  • dealing with my decision to be alone
  • throughout trying to be elegant
  • failing miserably
  • going slightly nuts
but I'm rad yanno... Ryan said so!!
Tumblr

I have a Tumblr account which is basically a collection of interesting stuff I find on the net... including lots of re-blogs of other people who also have Tumblr accounts. My Tumblr feeds into this blog... and I've written a bit about why I love Tumblr so much HERE
